I have three of these, hung on pulleys which makes it easy to raise and lower the lights. I’ve had great luck with seedlings this year. I’m a little concerned that the bulbs are not replaceable, so I’ll see how long they last. So far so goodI waited anxiously for this light to come in only to be very disappointed when only one bulb would light. I returned it for a refund and intended to reorder only to find that it is no longer available on Amazon. From the other reviews it sounds like it is a really great light which is why I ordered it in the first place. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is that I can't speak from personal experience since the one I ordered was defective.UPDATE: I'm changing my review from 3 stars to five stars. I received a full refund for the defective light. Since I couldn't re-order from this page I went to Active Grow's website and reordered from there. Not only did I receive my order faster than expected, they sent an extra one to make up for the first one being defective. I love the lights though I haven't had them long enough yet to say how my plants will do I'm confident that it won't be the light's fault if they don't thrive. So not only are the lights awesome the company stands behind them 100%. Don't hesitate to order from Active Grow.I am a serious orchid grower, and have created several indoor growing areas using LED lights. Right now, I am using LED grow lights from six manufacturers ... and Active Grow is my favorite for seedlings, Paphiopedilum, Phalaenopsis, and other lower light orchids. I do have some medium light Dendrobiums starting to flower under the Active Grow lights as well.I had hoped to replace my T5 HO fluorescent bulbs in the fixtures over my Paphiopedilum seedlings with conversion LED bulbs like my others from Active Grow. However, the conversion bulbs didn't work in those ballasts. Since I had such great results with the light spectrum from the Active Grow LEDs with my blooming size Paphs, I decided to simply replace three of my 108W T5 fixtures with the 40W Luminaire product. Very, very pleased with the decision. In a nutshell: better light quality, much less energy, and much less heat. The latter has been very beneficial for the recently deflasked orchid seedlings -- the surface of the pots don't dry out as quickly and stress the small root system. We have about 150 orchid seedlings currently under the Luminaire fixtures, and dozens more mature orchids growing (and flowering) under their conversion T5 LED bulbs.Everything has been an upgrade with these LED lights for the orchids -- I can't think of any downsides. The orchids are happier, and therefore, so are we!I've been using these lights for 3 years now. I have a total of 8 so far, and I'm very happy with them. I use them in a succulent shelf set up, an orchid shelf, and as supplemental lighting in my sunroom. I've attached some pix of the succulents and the vandas -all the plants seem to be thriving. The sunroom gets enough light on a sunny day, but here in PA sometimes weeks go by without one, so these lights come in handy there as well. I've kept my citrus trees and tropical hibiscus out there over winter for 2 consecutive years now without an issue. The lights are on anywhere from 8 to 14 hours a day depending on the time of year, and so far have not had any bulbs burn out. There were a few issues with the lights themselves, mostly from being banged around during shipping. Amazon and Active Grow replaced the lights without question. Active Grow customer service is amazing as well. They are fast to respond and super helpful.I highly recommend these lights!Housing is plastic, but solid while light. Fixture hangs level easily with included factory affixed foldable metal loop (like on a picture frame) Packaged well with well thought out educational literature/brochure The only issue I had, was one of the jumper cables to wire in series didn’t work. I will definitely be buying more Of these lights. There are cheaper options but all require some diy rigging and a light meter and some engineering. If you aren’t super handy or experienced in the sweet science of light and you like a clean aesthetic in your production setup then this is the best option I’ve found. This product is performing as expected and has been a great addition to my new urban farm startup. It is perfect for growing microgreens and shoots-among other things. I have already ordered several more since my first purchase. The lights are simple to set up and to use, lightweight and sturdy construction. You can daisy chain up to 5 units which is a huge plus. I spent a lot of time researching which grow light would be optimal when considering my production goals and finally settled on this product. The owner was also very helpful and assisted me with my questions. Overall the company, Active Grow, gets high customer service marks in my book for being responsive and very helpful. I would highly recommend this product to other growers interested in a cost-effective, quality grow light. This two-lamp package has already started to revive my wife's house plant rack. They are bright and easy to hang. All parts were there. Many of the Prime products I buy are pretty minimally packed for shipment but not this one. Box within tough air-tube wrap within another box inside a shipping box. They arrived without a bit of damage and the container would probably survive an 8 foot drop. I would definitely buy these lights again. The plants look great under these lights.
