This planter requires you to water your plant until the water runs through to fill the reservoir but there is no way to know how much water is going in. If you go above the reservoir window there is no way to know how much over.Once you put the plant in it is impossible to remove the inner pot. If you were to be above the reservoir you can't dump any out.I'm going to have to repot my plant again because of this.If the inner pot had a rim that would sit on top of the rim of the outer pot it would be better.If you buy this you may want to make some adjustments before putting your plant in it. Cut a couple places in the outer pot so you have a way to get the inner pot out. It won't look as good but it's the only way to do it once it's planted.Be ready to disturb your poor plants again or skip this planter and get one that has a better way to refill the reservoir to prevent all the root issues and all the other things that can ruin your plant.I bought this for my daughter and it is very, very helpful. Due to you being able to see when your plant needs water you will not over water your plants. Great idea for people who are plant beginers ??Arrived damaged, but I admittedly needed it and didn't want to fuss with a return so used it anyway. White inner pot lip is very fragile. Broken upon arrival, and when in use fractures further. Additionally followed planting inductions to a T, the drainage into the pot is problematic with the use of gravel as directed. No water in the window, water began sitting and building up on the surface after slow watering in intervals and soil that promotes drainage.... Discovered when I picked up the pot and shifted its weight around it began to drain into the lower level.... certainly didn't prevent over watering, in my case it actually encouraged it as I was looking for water in the window that never came... I'm guessing the size of gravel matters. I'm guessing the gravel I used is too large for this to work effectively. Idk. I used small decorative pepples I had used previously used with succulents. I will be looking for a different pot for sure. Disappointed.because of the water indicator i know how much and when to add water, and because of that everything is growing rapidly so far.Love the pot and inner pot. Any idea how to see the water level in the "peephole" to check the water level. I tried a strong LED flashlight. I don't think that the double(?) plastic will remain clear anyway. I may have to purchase a separate option to check water level.It holds dirt and it holds water. What else could you ask for!?Down side is refilling the water reservoir. Its difficult to get the liner out once its filled and planted.Still wasn’t as big as I expected it to be even though it said it was bigger than the last one I bought.
